Across the world ballot box are getting replaced by electronic voting system and Oscars too have decided to go electronic. The Oscar voters may soon be able to cast their votes electronically.

Kimberly Roush, Academy’s director of membership, says the electronic system may be implemented “as early as this year.”

The New York Times reports that the Academy’s director of membership, Roush has sent a letter to the nearly 6,000 voting members stating that the electronic system soon be implemented “as early as this year, and will certainly be in effect by next year.”

“At some point, once the system is up and running, mailed ballots will be eliminated,” she wrote.
