The FWICE members have demanded the payment from the producer (Reliance) to let the filming of Rohit Shetty’s Singham to continue.
Prem Singh Thakur, chairperson, vigilance department, FWICE told Mid-Day, “We stopped filming until the workers are paid. The producers (Reliance) owe the workers over R 45 lakh. It is a small amount for the producers, but a substantial amount in wages for the workers.”
Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance Big Pictures, admits there is a payment issue. “But our last schedule ended some time ago. The shooting was not stopped.”
But he adds, “There was a confusion over the payment between the workers and the art director. We’ve now cleared the misunderstanding and also a large sum of the due money.”
