The legendary artist Maqbool Fida Hussain has died in a London hospital early this morning, reports a leading daily Hindustan Times. He was 95.

MF Husain also directed a few films featuring Madhuri Dixit, who he often described as his muse.

The controversial painter has moved out of India in 2006 after a series of legal cases and death threats from Hindu organizations. He later accepted the citizenship of Qatar.
