The year has seen some different Indian cinema from its usual masala pack films, although there was a pinch of spices – masala – but most of the films had an unusual story to tell and with cinema becoming bigger and budgets going higher the cinematography played an altogether big role. Let’s get into the nominations for the Karbonn Mobiles 17th Annual Star Screen Awards:

The nominations for the best films will surprise you after knowing that two Khan’s (Salman and Shah Rukh) are fighting for the ‘Best Actor’ trophy for their roles in Dabangg and My Name is Khan but these two films does not feature in the ‘Best Film Award’ category. The nominations for the best film of the year 2010 are Band Baaja Baraat, Love Sex Aur Dhoka, Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, Rajneeti and Udaan.
The Best Actor category of the year includes: Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgn.

While the best actress category includes Anushka Sharma (Band Baaja Baraat), Kajol (My Name Is Khan), Vidya Balan (Ishqiya), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Guzaarish) and Neetu Singh (Do Dooni Chaar).
The films that got the most nominations in the Karbonn Mobiles 17th Annual Star Screen Awards consist of first time director Vikramaditya Motwane’s Udaan with 14 nominations, followed by Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Ishqiya’ with 13 nominations while Dabangg got its share with 12 nominations.
