True it is, the dream every Rockstar comes with but how many of them really get themselves on the cover of Rolling Stone, a parameter of success and fame of a Rockstar. World favorite Rock n Roll Magazine completed its third year in India in March 2011 and they decided to devout its third anniversary to a thousand year old Culture and tradition which runs in Indian Blood. The magazine which is the most favorite among the army of Rock n roll fans on the globe called the idea Rolling Stone India Cover as Art Project.
The magazine has taken the initiative to invite cross sections of Indian designer, Illustrators, Art directors to create their own Rolling Stones cover, sheathing the essence of their celebration of Music by intrinsic of Rock n roll Music and their Indian background.
The Creative heads fuse the elements, Culture, Music, and Wisdom with Progressive to Psychedelic and Classic to Contemporary Rock n Roll Music to express their take on the project. Vice president and Senior Creative Director at J Walter Thomson, Debojyoti ‘Debu’ Purkayastha whose piece of art finally selected for the Cover Rolling Stone March 2011 out of 50 Top Covers says, “It is the third anniversary of Rolling Stones India and my illustration attempts to capture the spirit of music. It’s a veritable explosion of people and thing in a state of absolute exhilaration”.
The volume is an amalgamation of thousands year old wisdom of Indian Culture with the magic of Head bangers Music.
