The film ‘Chillar Party is co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s UTV Motion Pictures. The story of the film revolves around 7 children and their lives who defeat the odds and prove their loyalty to a friend.
Salman is excited over the film’s premier at the bollywood’s major film event. “‘Chillar Party’ is very close to my heart, the concept appealed to me and the children’s performances were endearing. This is the first film under SKBH (Salman Khan Being Human) Productions and we felt there was no better place to screen the movie than at the IIFA film festival. For me, IIFA is home-grounds and it can’t get bigger than IIFA in Toronto,” said the actor.
Toronto being hugely populated by the Punjabi migrants, the IIFA has designed it in such a way that they reach to the Punjabi population of the country which inhibits in the four major cities – Toronto, Markham, Brampton and Mississauga.
The selected film which will be showcased at this year’s IIFA has a mix of bollywood classics and blockbusters based in and around Punjab. The films which make the list of the premier are Rang De Basanti”, “Dabangg”, “Chashme Badoor”, “Dil Bole Hadippa”, “Veer Zaara”, “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” and “Yamla Pagla Deewana”.
“We are pleased to open the festival with the much-anticipated, ‘Chillar Party’,” told Sabbas Joseph, director, Wizcraft International Entertainment, the organisers of the event to the Mid-Day.
