The film trade pundits are smiling, as Diwali gets bigger with the announcement of David Dhawan’s ‘Rascals’ to release in the festival season. The makers of Ra.One have already announced the Diwali release of their film in advance and with ‘Rascals’ producer boarding the bus to the festival of lights, there will be a cracker of contest.

Ra.One features the Bollywood Badshah in a ‘Superhero’ avatar while David Dhawan’s ‘Rascals’ looks at the funnier side of Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt. The poster of the film is showing this Diwali will once again have another comedy crapper featuring Ajay.

The producers of ‘Rascals’ were quite thoughtful before deciding to pitch their film against a mighty ‘Ra.One’ but they reached the conclusion of releasing the film at the time of Diwali with the 5 day weekend which can be said to be rewarding and will not hamper much to the future of the film.

Shahrukh Khan has a great track record over Diwali release. His earlier films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein, Veer Zaara, Don and Om Shanti Om garnered great rewards and proved to be box-office hits. On the other side Ajay’s earlier releases on Diwali like Golmaal Returns and All The Best proved successful.

On every scale both the films are going to get their share of audience and with a five day weekend, they will not miss any of the film.
