Finally, we will see Harry Potter Film series getting recognition and honor at the British Academy Films and Television Awards (BAFTA).

J.K. Rowling and the film’s producer David Heyman both will be honored on Feb 12th 2011, on behalf of the ‘The Harry Potter Franchise’, at the London’s Royal Opera House. It is quite surprising that the thought of honoring has come late, when all Harry Potter films have racked worldwide acclaim in the last ten years. It is quite a better late than never kind of situation out here. Along with the film franchise even the stars of the film series equally deserve, for creating the beautiful world of magic with their amazing performances. We can only hope to see them felicitated very soon.

Celebrate the Witchcraft

Right from their very first film ‘Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone’ in 2001, till now, the film franchise has left no stone unturned to excite the viewers every bits. The films are continually capturing reputation globally and setting an example in the field of British film making and stage & screen acting talent. In combination with that, all the Potter movies are the mega box office earners. It is the top-grossing film franchise of all time, earning over $5.4 billion worldwide with its six films.

The Magical Journey will end this year

Finola Dwyer, Chair of the Film Committee commented, “As this great British film success story draws to a close with this year’s eagerly anticipated final installment, it’s fitting that BAFTA honors the Harry Potter films and their contribution to the British film industry. We’re delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate with JK Rowling and David Heyman at the Film Awards.”

No fears, just honor!

The Harry Potter’s fans as well as the actors will undergo a bit of disappointment for they have to bid farewell to Harry Potter when The Deathly Hallows Part 2 will embellish the screens, very likely on the 15th of July, 2011.

As for now, let us celebrate the fact that the greatest movie franchise in cinematic history Harry Potter will be honored at the BAFTA!
