Finally Imran Khan married to Avantika, his longtime girlfriend. But the hyped actor and nephew of Aamir Khan failed to do anything like his ‘Mamu’ on celluloid after the hit ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa’ which came out of Aamir’s production house. Since then Imran’s ‘Luck’ eluded him ‘Kidnap-ped’ his ‘Chocolate’ boy image only to make him come after ‘Break ke Baad’ for ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ which will release somewhere in the mid of 2011.

Now, when the actor is married, you will put the question what he is doing with ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’? Of course, he must be calling Salman Khan his ‘Bhai’ (brother) and when he is acting with Katrina Kaif he has to remember that she is the bride of Salman ‘Bhai’.

Oops, but the recent news suggest that Katrina has broke off with Salman and she is now dating Ranbir Kapoor.

It should be Kis-Kis ki Dulhan!

Now it makes an understandable title for Director Ali Abbas Zafar where Imran has to remind himself that Katrina is still his brother’s bride, I mean ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a musical romantic comedy set amongst upper middle class families in North India where Imran falls in love with his brother’s (Ali Zafar) Dulhan (Katrina), are you listening Avantika?! Avantika, “I Hate Luv Story”.

Yeh Saali Zindagi – First Look https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2010/10/24/yeh-saali-zindagi-first-look/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2010/10/24/yeh-saali-zindagi-first-look/#respond Sun, 24 Oct 2010 18:36:11 +0000 http://bollywoodcorner.wordpress.com/?p=1979

Sudhir Mishra has always been a prolific story teller, his previous works like ‘Hazaro’n Khwaishein Aisi’, Is Raat Ki Subah Nahi’, Khoya Khoya Chaand’, Yeh Who Manzil To Nahi, Calcutta Mail, Chameli, Dharavi and Khamosh have earned him awards and critical acclaims. He has always produced meaningful cinema, with unusual climax and sensible direction, he is once again ready with another unusual cinema, as the title of the film ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’ which in itself is an unusual title for a Hindi film. May be because of that the film has received an ‘A’ rating.

For youngsters, this is not an unusual term, it is an idiom that they hear very often from friends, colleagues and many a times utter themselves. This term shows the frustration of today, where life struggles between love, career and family and when someone comes close of giving up everything, he has this term to pull all in one ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’. Is it an appropriate title for a romance-thriller? Well, you may think otherwise but it has a story behind the title. When Sudhir was confused between ‘Dil Dar b Dar’ and ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’, he took help from the social networking site Facebook where he asked viewers to see the clip – which he has posted on the page – to suggest him the appropriate title for his the film. He received a whopping 80% for ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’ and it is how the film got its title.

The film ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’ examines the pitfalls of love and longing in today’s India. It is an inspiration of Sudhir’s earlier film ‘Is Raat Ki Subah Nahi’ but not a sequel claimed the director.

The film stars some tall actors like Irrfan Khan who played the character of an investment banker, Sudhir’s favorite actress Chitrangada Singh as an inspiring pop singer, Arunoday Singh as a local goon and new comer Aditi Rao to complete the cast.

The audience has to wait a little longer as ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’ will be released in January 2011. Now don’t say, ‘Yeh Saala wait’!

Allah Ke Banday – First Look https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2010/10/12/allah-ke-banday-first-look/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2010/10/12/allah-ke-banday-first-look/#respond Tue, 12 Oct 2010 14:06:53 +0000 http://bollywoodcorner.wordpress.com/?p=1974

For long I was idle, hoping to find something on which I can delve and come out with a meaningful and readable write up. And finally, I got something to write about that has left me wandering and thoughtful, if it is like that then what human rights, children welfare organizations and other societies have done who claims to be working and fighting for these children. One thing is sure, we all work for money, the only source of our existence; if snatched no will ever talk about all these issues and if they talk it will be within the four walls of their houses.

Children at War

Allah Ke Banday as a film goes into the dark alleys of Juvenile crime, how it gets birth and who makes it flourish rather than crushing its head they make it to rise at a position from where only death is the end.

The film ‘Allah Ke Banday’ is directed by the first timer Faruk Kabir who has also acted in the film along Sharman Joshi and Naseeruddin Shah.

The story of the film brings forth the ugly face of crime when two kids are sent to the juvenile delinquency for a false charge of murder (which is if not common but rampant) only to see the ugly world of crime, where they find survival is possible only by asserting their power and their life changes forever. Eleven years under Juvenile detention they learn crime under the guidance of an abusive warden (Naseeruddin Shah) who knows the only language – violent and offensive.

When Vijay (Sharman Joshi) and Yakub (Faruk Kabir) come out, they are without the infancy and childhood; it has died within the four walls of the jail and they enter the adulthood of crime. They come back to where they belonged after 11 years but only with the desire to dominate and aspiration to go and rule the muddle of criminal world.

‘Allah Ke Banday’ is an UNESCO approved project and is slotted for 22nd October release. We hope when the meaningful drama unfolds it may awake the people.
