The America actress and model spoke about it on Wednesday night appearance on Chelsea Handler show. She also explained that why marriage is not for her even if she is not anti-marriage.

“I’m not like anti-marriage or the institution, like for other people,” Mendes told host Chelsea Handler. “And I love the idea of a union that’s all very beautiful. But it’s a very old fashioned, archaic thing.”

“I actually think it’s really sexy to be with someone in your fifties and sixties and be like, ‘That’s my boyfriend,'” Mendes added. “I think husband and wife is just very unsexy.”

The 37-year-old actress has dated for long with Peruvian director George Augusto, but never married him. “Well no, because, it’s not personal, it’s just the institution… Why?

If you love someone and you have a spiritual union, I just personally don’t think [I need] a piece of paper because society tells me [is necessary],” she said.

‘The Hitch’ star had posed naked for a series of photographs clicked by Lyndon Chubbuck. But the photos were found missing from the collection of photos that came back from the printers and Chubbuck filed a police complaint, reported TMZ.

He insisted that the complaint was to be filed merely for insurance purposes as he doesn’t want the Lon Angeles Police Dept. to go in search of the missing photographs.

“The cops aren’t really going to put a mad hunt for my Eva photos,” he said. The pictures of Mendes will still be able to go on display as planned, as Chubbuck arranged for reprints to be made.
