After break-ups (Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor), Katrina Kaif may not fear to give away her heart to anyone in near future but if you ask her to dive into an ocean, she will think thousands of times before diving.

She has developed a fear of sharks. It happened during the making of Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ where she plays the role of Laila who is a diving instructor. It is said that first she was very enthusiastic for her role until she had her first brush with a Shark.

A source told a leading daily, “Katrina had no idea what awaited her in the sea. When she was offered the role of Laila, the sexy diving instructor in Excel Entertainment’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, she was very excited to start shooting. Closer to the start of filming, Katrina, had a private instructor, who trained her in deep sea diving, at Otters Club, in Bandra.

She was under the impression that ‘this is easy’ as all she had to do was practice to breath in the deep-end of the pool. But when she landed up for the actual shoot, she was in shock. During the shoot, the weather was acting up. There was a storm at sea. Two hours into sailing, the instructor asked her to jump into the sea.

When she looked up, everyone was frantically gesturing to her. She thought they were making fun of her. She swam around, mesmerized by the aquatic life. After the shoot, the crew confessed to her that when she took her first dip, a shark passed from above her. She was shocked that nobody told her to get out of the water. The thought of the incident alone was enough to mortify her.”

When the daily confirmed it with Katrina, she said, “When Zoya had told me about my character, I had to practice deep sea diving. So, I went to Otter’s Club in Bandra with a coach. In the swimming pool, I ventured into the deep-end. I even sat there and practiced, but nothing prepared me for the big ocean.

We were shooting for three days to get the shot right and I lost about 3kg due to the mental strain and fear. I was really scared. In the shot, I am supposed to hold Hrithik’s hand and walk, but if you look closely, I was clutching his hand because I was scared.”

We hope next time no one asks Katrina to dive in the deep sea!

Hrithik’s Agneepath Look! https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/29/hrithiks-agneepath-look/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/29/hrithiks-agneepath-look/#respond Sun, 29 May 2011 10:46:44 +0000 http://www.bollywoodnites.com/?p=4711

Karan Johar has tried everything that nothing should come out unofficially for his remake of ‘Agneepath’ where Hrithik Roshan is playing the role of ‘Vijay Dinanath Chauhan’ but there are many who are behind it and they finally succeeded to give us the first look of Hrithik for the film.

It’s Mumbai Mirror which has got the sneak peak of Hrithik’s new look for the film, which was closely guarded.

The images are of a dahi-handi sequence, where Hrithik dressed in a vest is seen climbing a human pyramid to break the earthen pots hanging overhead.

Karan would be really surprised and shocked over this, but it is part and parcel of the film industry. The more you hide, the more people will try to sneak it out.

Barbara wants one more chance! https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/28/barbara-wants-one-more-chance/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/28/barbara-wants-one-more-chance/#respond Sat, 28 May 2011 07:18:01 +0000 http://www.bollywoodnites.com/?p=4672

The Mexican beauty, may not  have pulled it off when she landed a role in ‘Kites’, the film didn’t get the kind of response which the Roshans – Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan, must have thought. Barbara Mori the leading lady of the film went on to become a forgotten ‘firang’ in the Hindi film industry.

However, the Mexican is eager to make a comeback to the Tinsel Town as she urges to the audience on micro-blogging site ‘Twitter’ to give her another chance as they gave ‘Katrina Kaif’ long back after the debacle of ‘Boom’.

“Barbara finds it embarrassing to keep following up with her Kites co-star. Since both Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan have gotten busy with their respective projects – the Agneepath remake and Krrish sequel, Mori feels she shouldn’t impose, and try to find her way back in, on her own,” a source told to a leading daily.

But, in the film industry there is a lack of interest in Barbara, producers seems to be happy with the old glamorous faces than trying someone who hasn’t had the surprising element. Even the Roshans have been least concerned towards actress after promising support during the filming of ‘Kites’.

The source added, “She’s not happy with the few offers that were made. After debuting with Hrithik, she can’t go to work with a second rung actor for a small production house. Her effort is to connect with the biggies, but her language barrier and zero contacts in the industry is proving to be detrimental.”

Hrithik and Katrina go Dirty! https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/27/hrithik-and-katrina-go-dirty/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/27/hrithik-and-katrina-go-dirty/#respond Fri, 27 May 2011 15:47:38 +0000 http://www.bollywoodnites.com/?p=4580

Do not take dirty in any other way, like ‘Dirty Picture’ but Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan unexpectedly went dirty for a song in Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. This left the makers of the film to change the song and prune down the parts which were gone bad.

In the song Hrithik and Katrina were playing with tomatoes as it was shot in Spain and they wanted to get the essence of the Tomatino Festival which is popular in the country. But, the two got too messed up with the tomatoes that after seeing the rushes of the song they requested the director to edit out some portion, as it could send a wrong signal.

It is heard that the makers of the film heard their request and changed the song. They also toned down the sequences by adding scenes of Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol who are also in the film.

They Sing it Together!! https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/18/they-sing-it-together/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/18/they-sing-it-together/#respond Wed, 18 May 2011 10:40:38 +0000 http://www.bollywoodnites.com/?p=4258

Come ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and you will hear Abhay Deol, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar clearing their throats for one of the song of Zoya Akhtar’s much awaited film.

Farhan has already done this before, but Abhay is not so convince about his voice, “I can’t sing at all, neither can I dance. Today’s upbeat recording technologies tuned my part of the song as required. I didn’t even have time to practice. They told me to sing my way and they would tweak it,” said the actor.

“I loved my voice after recording. I don’t know if people would love it too,” added Abhay.

Abhay has too much of hairs to go topless https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/16/abhay-has-too-much-of-hairs-to-go-topless/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/05/16/abhay-has-too-much-of-hairs-to-go-topless/#respond Mon, 16 May 2011 07:28:30 +0000 http://www.bollywoodnites.com/?p=4191

This is what Abhay Deol said when Hrithik Roshan one of his co-stars in Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ joked about the poster of the film. The film also features Katrina Kaif and Farhan Akhtar.

Abhay is the only male actor in the film’s poster who is fully clad in comparison to Hrithik who is topless and Farhan shown in ganji.

“I have a lot of hair on my chest and there is a scene in the film where we have these tomatoes all over our bodies. I told my stylist that if the tomatoes stick to my chest hair the sight won’t be pleasant. Otherwise, I have no issues with taking off my clothes” said Abhay.

Hrithik shot another cue and said, “Abhay has in fact gone bottomless in the film. You will see him remove his clothes too.”

Well, the film is themed on the bachelor trip and what less than that will you expect from three males who are out to kiss the rain.

2010 Duds of Bollywood https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2010/12/30/2010-duds-of-bollywood/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2010/12/30/2010-duds-of-bollywood/#respond Wed, 29 Dec 2010 23:27:32 +0000 http://www.bollywoodnites.com/?p=2080

The year 2010 recorded few exemplary successes, but it also has seen some unforgettable debacles, when star studded, hyped and glorified films fallen flatly on the box-office. If 2010 was cherish-able for Ajay Devgn, for his four hits, it hampered few who liked to be called ‘Stars’. Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan will surely like to forget the year and move on in the hope of a better 2011.

For Akshay, it wasn’t less than a nightmare when all his antics, jumping and hanging finally brought him to the ground, injuring his face [value] – Colgate smile – which he brings forth every time when he comes out to promote a new film after a flop. Al though Junior Bachchan and Junior Roshan too have failed to put any show on the box-office but somehow managed to escape the ire of producers and directors.

Now, let’s not talk any more about the actors but the films which have really put them into hiding.

Raavan: Next time when Abhishek Bachchan will be asked, does he know ‘Ramayan’? He will start looking around to save his face in fear of any question about Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’. The film was produced on a whopping budget of 100 crore but couldn’t able to fetch half of it. The gross revenue of ‘Raavan’ was just 29.50 crore, a debacle that has put Mani Ratnam hiding in the same jungles.

Veer: A lethal warrior in the battle field, but ends at the box-office as a creepy creature that come under the audiences boot. Salman Khan as a hero sometimes do wonders like he did in ‘Dabangg’ but wielding a pen to write script needs brain rather than muscle. Veer flopped after a good opening, reason shoddy script, screenplay and dialogues.

Action Replay: Least said about Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer ‘Action Replay’ will be a fitting honor one can do to the film. Vipul Shah tried to capture the picnic and romance in Mumbai of 70’s but turned out to be a visual leprosy.  He could have saved himself after watching – if he has watched – ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ where Milan Lutharia’s imagination of Mumbai of 70’s was a treat to watch, even when the film was set up to show the other side of city.

Tees Maar Khan: The only saving grace for Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ was the item song ‘Sheila ki Jawani’ that becomes a rage among the DJs across the country. ‘TMK’ has also broken the myth – for Akshay Kumar – that Katrina Kaif is his lucky charm. And moreover, the debacle has put Shirish Kunder’s ideas of taking all credit on the back burners (he will never try it again).

Khatta Meetha: Let us hope Akshay will not go jittery or his fans after seeing his third film making the list of the biggest flops of the year 2010. Now, he should bid adieu to celluloid and move permanently to ‘Chef Shows’ on small screen, because he is yet to find the right ingredients for a good movie but we know that he knows the spices well to make tasty dishes.

It is really a bad idea to comment and write about flops where a lot of hard work and dedication go waste. So why to waste anymore, but few other films need a special mention here which makes the list of flops or duds of 2010; Anjaana Anjaani, Dulha Mil Gaya, Guzaarish, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey and Aakrosh to end the wastage (bollywood needs some waste management course now).
