She may not have thought that returning from Cannes will can her into troubles. Actress Minissha Lamba was questioned after landing at the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus for carrying jewelry worth of 50 lakh but she says there will be no case against her.

“I have given my statement and the fact that the jewels don’t belong to me. They were given to me to wear at Cannes by Anmol Jewellers, so I don’t think there is any case against me. The jewelers will be called to verify that is it their jewels and that’s it. It’s an open and shut case.” Minissha told IANS.

The 26-year-old actress has gone to 64th Cannes Film Festival to attend Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight In Paris’. She came back on Wednesday by Emirates flight.

Minissha Lamba who went to attend the 64th Cannes Film Festival at the French Reverie was detained by the custom officials at the international airport in Mumbai allegedly for not declaring gold and diamond jewelry worth of 50 lakh.

The 26-year-old bollywood actress was later let off after a 16 hour of questioning.

“Lamba was allowed to go at 1 am after 16 hours of questioning and recording of statement. She is likely to be called today as well,” a Customs official told a daily.

She was in France to attend the premier of Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight in Paris’ and was returning from Cannes via Dubai by an Emirates flight when she was intercepted by Customs officials in the green channel.
