First I thought it is another horror film from RGV like ‘Darna Manaa hai’ or ‘Darna Zaroori hai’ but the film ‘Department’ is a take on politician and gangster where Amitabh Bachchan too have a role to play of politician turned gangster.

The uniqueness of the design of his character is such that you will never get to see him in total but only in parts like his hand, his foot, his fingers, his ear, his eye, his mouth, his shoulder,  his head, his shadow.”

‘Department’ is said to be RGV’s most expensive venture of recent times where Sanjay Dutt and Rana Duggabati too have a role to play.

It seems Ramu is putting all the ingredients together to make the audience stick their bum to the seats ‘Chorna nahi’!!

The film which is based on the 80’s South Indian siren ‘Silk Smitha’ has started gathering too much headlines as the film features Emraan Hashmi, Tusshar Kapoor, Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah. To keep the essence and freshness of the character Ekta took this step and even asked the visitors to come sans mobile phones.

Ekta Kapoor told TOI when asked about the ban, “Every actor in the film will essay the role of an individual from the South Indian film industry. Tusshar will play a struggling writer while Naseer will essay the character of a grown up actor who works in children’s films in the eighties.

This is the first time a Hindi film will depict the South Indian cine industry. There are different colours to each character and everyone has a specific look. The cell phones on the sets can ruin everything for us.”

“We keep on hearing of incidents about looks being revealed and I don’t want that for my film. I want to bring out every look in the proper way,” added Ekta.

She revealed the looks of the actors, “The men in my film are not going to look hot – Naseerbhai will be seen wearing wigs. I am dreading that he might end up looking scary. I don’t want the characters to look like caricatures.”

“Vidya, however, will be seen in revealing clothes. She has three or four different looks in the film,” she added, about the female lead in Dirty Picture.

“Finally, it is decided that the sequel of Ishqiya is being made. I’m quite happy about that. Ishqiya is way tougher than ‘Dhamaal’ or ‘Golmaal’ because that’s a character that speaks in a different dialect,” Arshad told IANS.

Ishqiya has bagged four National Awards, the film was released in 2010 also featured voluptuous Vidya Balan and Naseeruddin Shah in important roles. The film was directed by Abhishek Chaubey and was produced by Vishal Bhardawaj.

The film ‘Ishqiya2’ will go on the floors at the end of this year.

Politics is a game and everyone has one simple intention, to win. Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’ does not overlap the virtue of today’s politics albeit it transpires to be in its essence.

Prakash Jha has made a mark for making films on socio-political issues and Rajneeti is an extension to his earlier works – Damul, Mrityudand, Gangajal and Apharan – on the subject of social evil in the Hindi Heartland.

Is ‘Rajneeti’ belongs to the soil from where the scripts of Gangajal, Apharan and Mrityudand found a route to reach other parts of India? Fictionally it is but factually looking at the promos it seems to be a story woven around the biggest political clan of India but that seems to be wrapped under the canopy. It will come out only after the release of the film.

Before Rajneeti could see its release on 28 May 2010, a controversy or you can say a demand from the distributors has warmed up. They has asked Prakash Jha to leak a steamy scene from the film that was shot on Ranbir Kapoor and his American co-star Sarah Thompson – Jha missed and Italian – and those who have seen the rushes they believe it could leave Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori sequences in ‘Kites’ which is about to release in a weak.

However Jha isn’t buying the idea of bringing the audience to the theater on the promise of sex when the star cast of the film is enough powerful to bring the audience to the theater.

If Ranbir Kapoor is the meanest and the most manipulative character in ‘Rajneeti’ Ajay Devgan plays an underdog politician, the film also boast actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Katrina Kaif.

‘Ishqiya’ no doubt will look to many as a film with vulgar dialogues, but to keep the true essence of a place language plays an important and vital part. ‘Ishqiya’ stars Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan.

When I saw the trailer of the film I had goose bumps, in the very first shot Naseeruddin Shah says to Arshad Warsi, “Kuch dino ki baat hai bus phir apne gao’n mein Peepal tale paadenge aur nadi kinaare hugne jaayenge aur kya thandi thandi hawa lagegi pichwade mein” (Only few days and we will be in our village, farting under the Peepal tree, we will go to the bank of the river to shit and how nice it will be when cool breeze kiss our buttocks).

The film has everything intact, be it the expletives or sexually charged scenes, censor has passed it un-cut that would keep the heart and soul of the film.
