It is the same bike on which Saif’s character in ‘Aarakshan’ rides across the streets of Madhya Pradesh and he has requested Prakash Jha, the director of the film to let him keep and take it to Mumbai, not just as a momento but also to ride in Mumbai. The unit of ‘Aarakshan’ has given a name to the bike ‘Basanti’ – now if Dharmendra gets angry, don’t come to ask for help.

“It’s Saif’s character’s transportation in my film. Saif got really attached to ‘Basanti’. We’d often find him missing from location. We got know he was exploring Bhopal, the city where Saif has his roots,” told Prakash Jha to a daily.

The locals around who have seen Saif riding the bike have also started calling it ‘Basanti’ and he is just enjoying it. “I quite enjoyed the shooting in Bhopal. It gave me chance to re-connect with my childhood. And yes ‘Basanti’ was invaluable,” said the actor.

Now, a request to Saif, never ever say, “Basanti in Kutto ke Saamne mat start hona”!

Synopsis:

Aarakshan is the story of Prabhakar Anand (Amitabh Bachchan), the legendary idealistic principal of a college that he has single-handedly turned into the state’s best. It is the story of his loyal disciple, Deepak Kumar (Saif Ali Khan) who will do anything for his Sir. Of Deepak’s love for Prabhakar’s daughter, Poorbi (Deepika Padukone), of his friendship with Sushant (Prateik). It is the story of their love, their lively friendship, their zest for life, and of their dreams for the future.

Centered on one of the most controversial issues of recent years, with the Supreme Court’s order on reservations, the story suddenly becomes a rollercoaster ride of high drama, conflict, and rebellion, which tests their love and friendship for one another, and their loyalty to Prabhakar Anand.

The film is still untitled is said to revolve around the sexual harassment at the work places. Arjun and Chitrangada haven’t worked together as yet and this could be the first time when two drop-dead-gorgeous people will come together to play ice and fire on the celluloid.

Chitrangada has earlier declined such scenes on the context of stuffing such scenes where it really do not require but Jha as everyone knows makes film aesthetically and bedroom scenes are quite fit to the script.

Politics is a game and everyone has one simple intention, to win. Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’ does not overlap the virtue of today’s politics albeit it transpires to be in its essence.

Prakash Jha has made a mark for making films on socio-political issues and Rajneeti is an extension to his earlier works – Damul, Mrityudand, Gangajal and Apharan – on the subject of social evil in the Hindi Heartland.

Is ‘Rajneeti’ belongs to the soil from where the scripts of Gangajal, Apharan and Mrityudand found a route to reach other parts of India? Fictionally it is but factually looking at the promos it seems to be a story woven around the biggest political clan of India but that seems to be wrapped under the canopy. It will come out only after the release of the film.

Before Rajneeti could see its release on 28 May 2010, a controversy or you can say a demand from the distributors has warmed up. They has asked Prakash Jha to leak a steamy scene from the film that was shot on Ranbir Kapoor and his American co-star Sarah Thompson – Jha missed and Italian – and those who have seen the rushes they believe it could leave Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori sequences in ‘Kites’ which is about to release in a weak.

However Jha isn’t buying the idea of bringing the audience to the theater on the promise of sex when the star cast of the film is enough powerful to bring the audience to the theater.

If Ranbir Kapoor is the meanest and the most manipulative character in ‘Rajneeti’ Ajay Devgan plays an underdog politician, the film also boast actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Katrina Kaif.

Deepika and Ranbir have been going steady in a relationship since making their debuts in 2007, but they had a fight over the weekend after which Ranbir left for Bhopal to complete Parkash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’.

According to reports Deepika knows that “there is something wrong between the two” and that is a reason why she went to Bhopal on the sets of ‘Rajneeti’.

It is a matter of concern for Deepika as Shazahn live close to Ranbir’s house in Bandra and two have some common friends as well as common interest (eating and hanging out), to make matter considerably thoughtful for ‘Om Shanti Om’ girl, Ranbir personally invited Shazahn for the screening of ‘Wake Up Sid’.

What would be the outcome of this love-triangle is yet far away to reach but one thing is sure, it is a wake up call for Deepika!!
