The unit of Always Kabhi Kabhi got the surprise from Shah Rukh Khan when he showed his much hyped sci-fi Ra.One – major portion of the film, to the stars of the films.

The SRK surprise came when the ‘Antenna’ song of the film Always Kabhi Kabhi was underway. He called up Zoya Morani, Giselle Monteiro, Ali Fazal, Satyajit Dubey and director Roshan Abbas to Satyajit’s vanity van and showed them the major part of the film.

“The kids were blown away after they saw the rushes. The sheer size and scale of Ra.One is overwhelming! Ali says it was like entering a space shuttle,” director Roshan Abbas told Mid-Day.

However the director of the youthful film Always Kabhi Kabhi said that Shahrukh kept away from the film. “During the shoot, SRK deliberately stayed away. He did not want the new actors to be overwhelmed by his presence. But in the last month, he met and interacted with them. He told them to enjoy this moment and do their parents proud! On one occasion Shahrukh mentioned that while growing up, he was glad to have his mother’s support. She called him her Dilip Kumar,” he added.

Eros International comes with a treat in 2011 https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/03/07/eros-international-comes-with-a-treat-in-2011/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2011/03/07/eros-international-comes-with-a-treat-in-2011/#respond Mon, 07 Mar 2011 18:14:29 +0000 http://www.bollywoodnites.com/?p=3507

Eros International Media Ltd (Eros International), India’s one of the most prominent film studios has announced the release of  ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ on 17th June 2011 under Shahrukh Khan’s banner Red Chillies Entertainments’ and the actor, presenter, radio jockey and theatre artist, Roshan Abbas is directing the flick while marking his debut. The film stars the budding debutantes Zoa Morani (Assistant director of ‘Om Shanti Om’), Giselli Monteiro (‘Harleen Kaur’ of ‘Luv Aaj Kal’) , Ali Fazal (‘Joy Lobo’ of ‘3 Idiots’) and Satyajeet Dubey (Seen in AD films) in the lead roles with Satish Shah, Lilette Dubey, Navneet Nishan, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Mukesh Tiwari and Akash Khurana.

The flick is about a group of school friends. The talented Ali Fazal has to lose 14 kilos to look like a school boy in the film. He also kept away from work outs as he could not look muscular in the film. The actor said to Mid Day, “It was a vast change from playing Joy Lobo, who was serious with clear ambitions. I had to literally unlearn everything I had done so far.”

Ali will be starring opposite Giselle Monteiro. ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ will also cast debutant Satyajit Dubey, who was discovered by Roshan Abbas and has done a couple of Ad films. Satyajit has got a theater background, though not a trained actor. He will be seen starring opposite Zoa Morani. Satyajit says to Mid Day, “Roshan Sir was more of a teacher to me than a director. He taught me how to get comfortable in a given setting and always encouraged spontaneity.” The debutant is proud that he got the opportunity to work with Shahrukh Khan’s prestigious banner. He adds, “God has rewarded me for my patience.”

Commenting on the announcement, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd said, “With Always Kabhi Kabhi, Eros continues its fabulous association with Shahrukh and Red Chillies Entertainments. Roshan is a very talented personality and his debut film promises to be high on the freshness quotient and the youth, especially teenagers will definitely identify with it. It is a very today’s film and we are looking forward to leveraging Eros’ global distribution in promoting the film.”

Director Roshan Abbas added, “Always Kabhi Kabhi is a young film about teenagers and required a fresh casting and I have roped in some exciting new faces for the movie. Add to that, it’s a blessing to be backed by none other than Shahrukh, who believed in the project and the Red Chillies banner. I am very excited about the film and looking forward to Eros providing a global platform for its worldwide showcase”.

‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ is based on Roshan Abbas’ stage-play of 1991, Graffiti. Music is scored by Pritam. It is a fun, coming of age film. Hopefully the ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ will turn out to be a cash cow for all.
