However, she met the competition as soon as she arrived at the Red Carpet to witness the MTV Movie Awards 2011 in Emma Watson, the British actress of the Harry Potter series. Many have termed it as a battle of hemlines from opposite sides of the Atlantic.

While Emma arrived in a short white dress complete with an embellished neckline at the Los Angeles event her counterpart American singer and former Disney actress came in a leg-revealing outfit – a short white and beige skirt teamed with a patterned top.

The 18-year-old Disney star and 16-year-old singer messed around the sea, laughing, giggling  and splashing water, before Selena jumped into Justin’s arms and wrapped her legs around his waist.

The two have started dating each other since last year but have kept their relationship under wraps until March when Selena showed that it hurts to see Bieber’s fans hatred towards her.

“It’s hard. It hurts, it really does,” The Sun quoted her saying.

“I don’t feel like I’m doing anything wrong. I’ve been best friends with him for a very long time.

“It does hurt my feelings a lot but I try not to focus on it. I have a strong family and great fans,” she added.

However, the Disney star Gomez and singer Bieber has been caught on the camera with their not so family-iar relationship, when they were having a romantic stroll down Santa Monica Pier on Sunday.

The couple – unofficial – have been seen out together many a times, but with a careful distance, maintaining their ‘good kid’ image.

This isn’t the first time when the couple has come in front of the lens, earlier on the New Year eve, a blurry picture surfaced where the two were looking very affectionate on a yacht in the Caribbean.
