Fake Friends in the world of Social Networking https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2010/01/15/fake-friends-in-the-world-of-social-networking/ https://www.bollywoodnites.com/2010/01/15/fake-friends-in-the-world-of-social-networking/#respond Fri, 15 Jan 2010 20:50:29 +0000 http://bollywoodcorner.wordpress.com/?p=1807

Who said friends are tough to get or find! If you have got cash you can easily avail a sack full of friends and that too on a healthy discount, courtesy uSocial.
On a discount rate...

How materialistic the world could go! No limit, an Australian company called uSocial, is quite creating a name for selling virtual friends on a very cheap rate – £125 for 1000 friends slab for facebook and twitter.

This has created waves across the globe among the people who do not have friends and want to show themselves popular on these social networking sites.

There is an old saying, “A friend in need is a friend indeed”, I guess it will soon bite dust and will soon read as “If you need a friend pay first” in the toddlers books.

Already the world has been reduced to ‘google’ for information s, and gradually friendships are shrinking to social networking sites. The interactions among friends which were common over a cup of tea are replaced by status messages and comments.

Is it a good sign for catching up with friends or a sign that a relationship of emotions becomes flaunting asset??

It is agreeable that social networking sites do give an opportunity to find new friends but how far it is feasible to trust when they are paid?

However, voices are getting louder that such services are abusing the principles of social networking sites. Will they be able to control it?

The two biggest social networking sites facebook and twitter have already tried to get the services of uSocial shut down, but their lawyers have failed to do so. The bookmarking website is smiling their way to bank and recently launched a week campaign where they are offering a 25% discount over twitter following.

Don’t get surprised if tomorrow your son or daughter asks for some cash to buy friends!
