The 83rd Academy Awards are going to be telecast this February 27th. The nominations are already announced and the entire film fraternity and the movie buffs all over the world are eagerly waiting for the Oscars night. Lot of expectations and anticipation is building up as there are too many surprise nominations this year too. Actor James Franco of “127 Hours” fame who is also nominated in the best actor category for the same flick and “Love and other Drugs” actress Anne Hathway will together be hosting the ceremony.

“The King’s Speech” is the movie with the highest number of nominations. It has got up to 12 nominations in different categories giving it chances to expectedly win the award for the Best Picture this year. Colin Firth is also the most qualifying nominee in the Best Actor category for his outstanding performance in “The King’s Speech”.  “True Grit” with 10 nominations is expected to win the Oscar 2011. “The Social Network” and “Inception”, is heading behind with a total of 8 nominations each in their kitty.

Though “The Social Network” seems to be one of the strongest contenders to win the Oscar for Best Directing but ‘The King’s Speech’ if wins there shouldn’t be any surprises. “Black Swan” actress Natalie Portman who already has won many accolades for her role as a ballerina and Nicole Kidman for “Rabbit Hole” are the most deserving amongst the other nominees.

A stammering British Monarch delivers a speech of a life time only to get 12 – highest – nominations at the Academy Awards. The King’s Speech, a historical drama directed by Tom Hooper overshadows every other film at the Oscar nominations with the biggest chunk including best film and acting honors to Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush.

The other film that has caught the eyes at the Oscar nominations is the ‘True Grit’ with 10 nominations under its name with Jeff Bridges and Hailee Stainfeld getting acting honors for their act in the film.
